how do i reduce my ph?

i have some sea buffer will that do anything to help get my ph from 8.6 down to normal levels? do that stuff only raise my ph. sorry for the dumb q but i dont know much about that stuff and my ph always stays at 8.6. things look good but that is not a good range that i want to keep things at.

What other things do you add to your tank? Do you drip with Kalk? I am just wondering how you managed to get your pH so high. Have your tap water tested and if the pH is right then just do a water change to bring it down. As far as I know buffer only brings pH up and maintains it. I don't think there is any safe reef addative to brink pH or Alk down.

I OD'd a tank with buffer - had high Ph and Alk. Test your Alk also as it will probabally be high too. The only way to lower these is water changes. If your using RO water the Ph will be very low. Maybe like a 10% change every other day to get it down.
