How do I store live sand?

Hey guys, fantastic job here on this forum. So much info to soak up.
I have a question regarding some sand that I will not use. I recently upgrade to a 30 gallon from a 3 month old 10 gallon. The 30 gallon came with a VERY thick sandbed and I think if I added the sand from my 10, I'd have too much sand. So I am gonna keep the sand out of the 30 gallon.
Now, here is the question......how can I store the sand for a future reef keeper?I would hate to throw this sand out knowing that there is nothing wrong with it.
After I get everything swapped, I want to tear down the tank and sell it. I would like for the sand to go with it, but I don't know how long it would be before I coud get the tank sold.
Thanks in advance,
Joe

You can put it in a bucket of sea water and add food once and awhile.
Or.
You can be lazy like me. Leave it in a bucket..let it dry out...and when you give it to the next person... rinse it out....(get rid of the gunk and waste) ...then mix it with live sand...and it will come back to life in no time.
For your needs I would highly suggest just letting it dry out...
But its 100% personal pref.
