Host it on another site.
I use image shack here---
http://imageshack.us/
Do this:browse to file/pick size of image(640x480 is a good size)/upload or "Host" image/choose (Hotlink for forums)/copy and past link in this forum
Your done

You need a program like paint shop pro.
When you open the picture file you need to resize the pixel size, so the the size is no larger than 500 by 500
Then save the resized pic.
When you're posting a new thread, go down until you see Manage attachments
Click on that
this opens the browser page.
click on browse to find your resized picture
then upload it.
you can post a max of 5 pics per thread.
Close the browser box when you're done
and submit the thread!!

You can also get to Image Shack by clicking on the photos of the skimmer.
What I do is go ahead and start writing my post, then when I want to add a photo I go to Image Shack and get to where I can copy the link, then hit the back button on my browser until I get back to the forum post I am working on then I paste the link where I want the photo to display. Works great. But be patient, it may take a minute to upload your photo to the image service depending on your connection speed.

By the way, below the browse button on imageshack there is a email registration option. I just ignore it and it still works for me.

its all well and good that you can do this with image shack or whatever, and it can be done on photobucket as well.
BUT:
there's a contest that's going on (and others from time to time) that require a 500x500 uploaded post by using the manage attachment button on the thread creator. the only way to do this is to use a photo editor and shrink it and crop it.

Oh ok.This is of course only to be used if you want to cheat. Not that I am promoting cheating

But on another note I notice a lot of people here attach the photo on normal forum posting. I tried that and found it is much easier to host it than to edit the photo. Not during contests of course.
Disclaimer:Only host your image if you are trying to cheat. If you get busted,I am not liable for any consequences, either implied directly or indirectly.I do not take responsibility for anything that anyone does at anytime, either directly or indirectly.

Also the person who started this topic just wanted to know how to post a Pic under the size limitations of the forum, not how to post a pic in the contest.Image hosting, rather using imageshack or photobucket ,is a available option that can be used and not worry about size limitations of the file, and eliminating the editing of the photo to meet forum requirements, Thank you,Roddey

there is no size limitation unless you use the manage attachment button though. you proved it by posting that monster pic.
