How do you acclimate a tree sponge?

I know I already posted this but I need to know the best way to introduce a tree sponge into a tank. If you shouldn't put any of the water it came in, how is it done? I need to do this tonight. Somebody please help!

I have alot of sponges here is what I do,
get a bucket, pour out contents of bag and sponge , into bucket careful not to let sponge touch any air, then add about as much water from you tank to bucket as was in the bag, then pour half out, discard it, do this as many times as you can until you have only your tank water in bucket with sponge, I have a big tank so I can spare the water, hope this helps:)

I would usually have enough water but when I was in Chicago a snail plugged the hole in one of my drain pipes and I had water all over the floor. What would you do? The tree sponges are about 8" high and very nice. If I put them in a large tank with a heater and circulating water do you think that they would be ok by morning? By that time I would have made enough RO water so that the water in my sump would not be too low.

Red. Thanks for the advice and the pic., very nice tank. I am so tired from driving 7hrs yesterday and 7 again today and then finding all of that water on the floor. If it could wait until tomorrow that would be get. I will post a pic tomorrow. Thanks again.

If you are VERRRRRY careful, that red tree sponge may grow to be, say, 2 or 3 feet tall!
I feel for you with the flood. Been there, done that too. Major bummer to be tired and find hours worth of water extraction facing you. When I switched overflows, the snails could no longer get to anything to block it off. Presto! Snail induced flood problem resolved! :D

Drat! You're right! It is only right and fair to warn Spyderreef of the known hazards of the well cared for sponge growing so rapidly that it will extend way past the limits of the tank! I apologize for the oversight! :D  :D
That is for sure one of the funniest threads I've ever read! I would be up late at night absolutely rolling in gales of laughter reading that thread and checking out the amazing creativity of the board members. :D :D

I read that post a while ago and when I saw these sponges I almost started laughing.
Jonthefb, I appreciated the moving advice. For the most part it went pretty smooth. You wouldn't believe all of the things that I got. I'm still trying to identify some of the fish. When I have some time I will post some pics. We are still trying to decide where to put this new tank. After what happened when we were gone it makes me think that I don't want this tank upstairs. The tank is 120 gal 24x48. At least this tank has the skimmers in the corners not like mine with the open drain tubes for snails to get stuck  My project for the afternoon is to get the rest of the stuff in my tank. I will be filled to capacity. Some of the rocks he had are almost too huge. I will have someone help me. Last thing I want to do is drop it in my tank.
