How do you attach frag to rock?

Very frustrating.
Part of my clove has come off of the rock it was on when I purchased it. It is healthy, as is the piece that remained attached to the rock.
I have tried to place it so that it will attach itself to a new rock. The problem is that my wrasses will move anything they can move, and this poor thing ends up on the sandbed. They don't hurt it or eat it, they "just" push it around.
How can I wrasse-proof it?

You can try a rubberband to reattach. Or maybe just a plastic breadtie. Leave it on a week or 2 until it attaches again..

if the stalk is thick enough, stick a toothpick through it. Rubberband the toothpick to the rock you want and after a few days to a week it should be attatched. While your doing that you could cover it with mesh so the wrasses cant get to it. Make sure its tight to the rock. Then theres always waterproof crazy glue gel.

The mesh cover sounds like a great idea, thank you!
I don't think I could do the toothpick route.
