How do you change media on Red Sea Max Plug&Play filter?

I just purchased a Red Sea Max 34 gallon Plug & Play. The tank itself was assembled before I purchased it. I am having difficulty accessing the filtration media, however. Does anyone know how to disassemble part of the hood so I can just access the filtration area? Thanks so much!

The manual that comes with the tank is very self explanatory. If you don't have the manual, you can download the PDF version of it from the RedSeaMax.com site.
The whole hood comes off when you remove the 2 white long *sticks* from the back of the hood.

I am still not seeing the two long white sticks. Also, once the hood is fully raised, how can you access the filter media as there are two pumps in the way. Do you really have to remove both pumps?
