How do you get a picky tang to eat?

Lately I've been having difficulty feeding my powder blue tang. It's not that he won't eat it's just that he's really picky. I've had him for a couple months now and he will only eat seaweed selects, some tank algae and lots of brine shrimp.
I've tried all sorts of vegetables like spinach, carrots and broccoli but he spits it all out or doesn't touch it. Does anyone have any tips on how to prepare nutritious foods to picky fish?

Brine shrimp are okay, but too much of them will cause malnutrition, as Tangs are mainly herbivorous, as they don't receive enough plant matter. Try cultivating more tank algae, try San Francisco Bay Brand's "Emerald Entree" I feed it to all of my tangs, plus my damsels, and an engineer goby, and my volitan lionfish occasionally eats it. It's great because it has algae materials and such, but also has meaty foods, best of both worlds. Good Luck with your tang and tank.

as long as the tang is eating seaweed it should be ok...you may want to try to soak it in garlic or other nutrians (sp). that might help some.
My yellow tang ate the green seaweed and brine shrimp, plus picked at the green algea that grew in the tank.
I was told carrots and broccoli and such did not have the same nutrianal value as seaweed...

InFINSable~ if you have a tang he/she needs it more offten then once in a while as a treat. They need seaweed (green food) in their diet.
unless that's what Specta Thera pellets are...

Tang will do fine on you rcurernt diet as long as you soak everything in Selcon.
May also wan to try mysis, and spectrum pellets by sea life. I would suggest you shift to nori from selects. Much cheeper and same nutrition. You can get it at any chinese grocry store.
