I dont think I have pulled and flushed a dead animal in years. they stay in the tank.
creatures that exude toxins in high amount upon death excluided.

My old dog ate a striped eel that I unwisely put in the tank years ago, only to have it jump out. She seemed to really enjoy it and had it down before I could stop her.

If it's a small fish I would leave it in the tank. But anything large, like 5+ inches, I would pull out.

If its a small fish or snailcrab I just leave it in the tank and let the CUC do what they are paid to do. Otherwise I take it out and throw it in the trash

Pan sauté in good olive oil, garlic, white wine and basil. The corals give the dish a nice crunch if they are the stony kind

Any plumber will tell you not to flush em!!
If I see them and they are reachable, I remove them, zip lock them then put them in the trash.
And any good cook will tell you that if you add some lemon pepper to that basil and garlic, it would be a better dish... sheesh.
