How do people handle anemone?

what kinda anemone is it? most dont sting hard enough for a human to really feel it.
as for how to put it in... dump it in the top ;) they'll go where they want after that.

Well I am still researching what anemone to get. But in general how would you handle something poisonous like a urchin or anemone?
so I just drop it into the tank and let it fall to the bottom?? Wouldn't the fall hurt?

They make special gloves for handling corals they cover your whole arm. They cost around $5 a pair and are reusable.

when you acclimate them they are like mushy looking pieces of crap. The exact way I did mine was I picked it up out of the bucket as carefully as possible and put it in the tank with my hands and put it in the area I 'wanted' it to stay.... two weeks later it is in just about the dead opposite of where I had first put it :)

Marine toxins and nematocysts are odd things indeed. Although it is very stupid of me, I have handled all of my corals and anemones without any kinds of gloves and have never gotten a sting. I have even handled a large galaxea with no consequence.
However, I am not telling you this to encourage you to handle things unprotected. On the contrary, I just wanted demonstrate how the toxins can affect humans in a wide variety of ways. The toxins of what I touch without ill effect could quite possibly cause someone else to go into anaphylactic shock, and vice versa.
Always do your research, and always wear your gloves.
ps- letting a critter fall to the bottom of the tank from the surface of the water is more than likely not going to hurt it at all. Of course there are exceptions, so always read up.

anenomes do have the potential to be very dangerous. some people can handle them easily and others cannot. everyone knows someone allergic to bee stings out there. if you decide to grab it bare handed at least have someone there to take you to the hospital. the allergic reaction is pretty fast and you probably won't be able to drive. i haven't got up the guts to touch one yet, so i just keep one of those plastic transport bags from the lfs. put your hand up it inside out and grab the thing. after you grab it simply peel the bag down your arm and you have an anem in a bag. add water and it's all good and safe for transport. no need to buy expensive gloves. if your lfs gave it to you in a cheap plastic bag and it couldn't sting you, how's it going to now?
:D

Touching corals bare handed can cause tissue damage that is why. To the coral sorry lol.
