how can u tell if feather duster is dead or alive. He seemed happy for few days. I have 2 of them. One i see has his crown out. But the other one, last time i saw his crown out was yesterday. Is he dead? his top tube is completely closed. BTW his tail is not buried in sand. and the whole thing is just laying in the sand. Do i need to bury his tube tail? is that why he is unhappy? or you think he is just dead? how long should i wait? what should i do?

Hi there,
I have not kept many feather dusters. From the ones I have kept, the ones that died ejected thier crown than fell down on the sand bed and in a few days they seemed to borrowed into the sand and I never saw them again.

How long have you had them? I had one die that never dropped it's crown. I picked the tube up and the liquid, decomposed, remains fell out. Pick up the tube. If it is still firm then he is in there. Something may be wrong with the water. Check the params.

Yes, but not crazy sensitive. You can have nitrates under 30 and be fine.

Nothing. Check the tube. If he is still in there then give him time. He may not have been well when you got him though.
