how do you know if/when to dose DT?

I'm thinking about picking up some DT phyto tonight, but I'm wondering... how do I know if/when I should be using the stuff? I dose kalk 24/7 over 5 days every other week. I topoff about 1 gallon per day. I do water changes about once a month. I don't add/dose anything besides the kalk. Here's the basics:
44g reef
250w 6500k Iwasaki MH
4 small colonies of zooanthids (10 polyps or less per colony)
1 colony Xenia (approx 10 stalks)
1 colony mushrooms (approx 7 shrooms)
2 very small toadstools
1 unidentified soft coral
1 candy cane coral (approx 10 heads)
several random tube worms
I don't think these would benefit from DTs, but correct me if I'm wrong:
1 blue carpet anemone, S. Haddoni
1 green open brain coral

first of all each tank is diffrent... I have a 75gl. and I feed 2 times a week, on wed & sat. 30min before the light goes on, that way some nocturnal fedders will get some food too, like trumpet corals... feed only the amount specified, never over feed its bad on the long run...
