How do you tell a queen conch from a fighting conch?

Ok can you elaborate? Is one shell bigger spikier? The one I have is kinda spikey I guess but not really. Can you have a smooth spike? The actual snail is black in color with white spots.

Oh I really dont know how to really tell the difference. I believe the fighting conch shell is spikier than the queen conch. Not 100% sure though, I have never seen a fighting conch, but i have a queen conch and the shell is not very spikey.

I will try to help, but disagee with the above post. I'll try to make it short and sweet (dont hold your breath, lol). I ordered 2 FC from here and when I got them I could notice a difference in the 2. I guess if you see them side by side, you can see the difference easily. FC have a more "rounded" look to their spikes, QC have a more pointed spike. HTH, not add to the confussion.

Good call... Just did a little comparing of pics by searching on google, and you are exactly right. Queen conchs have spikier shells while fighting conchs are more rounded, almost looks as if it is missing the spikes.
Sorry for the wrong information above.... I wasnt sure

Cool! I think I am will take a picture of mine cause it is spiky but the spikes are rounded LOL. But it did go up on my glass today and i read where fighting conchs mostly stay in the sandbed instead of going on the glass.
