How does an anemone walk?

How does an anemone walk? My big LTA manages to go back and forth on a foot long trip. I've never seen her moving.
Thanks

Your anemone is moving because it is trying to find an ideal location in your tank. Once the foot of an anemone is attached to your liverock, it will migrate to find that perfect spot.

Mine does not "walk" it releases and floats with the water current, when it finds a spot it kind of likes it hangs on, digs in, and calls it home.
UNLESS...the current takes it to a power head where it gets stuck, sucked up and killed. So cover all the power heads with some kind of filter. The anemone has to settle down to one place to call home.

This is what I have learned from owning an anemone:
They are beautiful but they have no eyes and frankly I do not think they have a brain either, an anemone is a mouth with an anus.
The water current is their life, they stick out a tentacle and hope a fish is dumb enough to swim into it. ( I had a lawnmower blenny, and copperbanded butterfly fish who were dumb enough) They have internal lights to mesmerize the fish to get closer, closer then they eat it, or just sting it to death if they are not hungry.

My beautiful LTA with 2 clowns is not on rocks.... it's on sand, wedged against the glass, or against a rock. It seems to be happy.... but if it moves, it's being unhappy.. Right??

Yes, a moving anemone is an unhappy anemone. Mine tried to commit sushi about four times before settling down. It would get caught in one power head and when I shut off the power so it could release, then it would move to another to get chopped up and sucked in, it even wrapped itself in the filter intake.
It finally settled in the very center of the tank, but for a while it stayed in the very back where nobody could see it, hidden in the rocks.
It has been in its present position for 8 months now.
Here is a picture of it today. Its placement looks staged it is so perfectly in the center.

Seems to the responses they got confused with your question, mine do not detach they stay within the same rocks, foot moves like a snail would move.

My LTA and my BTA have seemed to move with in a couple inches of each other, both on the same rock. They have been that way for a couple weeks now. And after I got the BTA I was told that they will not get along, but I have had no trouble. The LTA even moved half way around the tank to live with his new buddy. IDK
