how does my Anemone look?

I just picked it up on saturday from a big LFS. It took about 10 minutes to get it to attach and now its opening up wide during the light hours and closing up tight at night. Its a long tip, but the white tips concern me. I just want to make sure if the pet store wasn't adequate lighting, or if this is how they generally look.

More information on your tank would be helpful. Are you still only running PC lighting and how old is your system? It may be a start of bleaching on the tips but it is also still acclimating to it's new home.
LT's can survive under PC's but not thrive and they can get really big. I had mine out grow a 45 gallon. It was at least 10" in diameter. They need a lot of space, a mature tank, and at least T5 lighting to thrive. Mine died from a bacterial infection, which was a bummer, but my Maroon clown was super territorial and mean when I had it. Now she doesn't try to take my arm off every time I stick my hand in the water.

I have a PC and a florescent light added on. Total is about 90watts of 10k spectrum. The white tips were like that when I got it, and I know most FS don't use proper lighting on their tanks because of purchase rate. It hasn't gotten whiter, and hasn't showed any signs of shriveling. I just hope that it'll be ok! water specs are good, trates/trites are zero, amm is zero, ph 8.0, SG 1.023-1.024. One koralia 2 pump (600gph) constantly on, a 2nd K4 (1200gph) intermittently on. Its a 30gallon bowfront. I'd say its sitting about 9-10 inches under the top of the water. The PC is 3.5 inches above the water, and the florescent is about 1 inch. It stays wide open during the light.

Give it at least a week to settle in and feed it once a week with raw shrimp. Mine changed it's coloring at different stages of growth. It was very bleached when I bought it and it took months before it got it's full color back. As long as the tips do not continue to lose coloring you should be ok. They are an awesome creature!
