Why do you have the temp so high?
Everything else sounds ok, though 1 hour acclimation is rather short. I acclimate most fish for 1 hour but more sensitive fish like tangs and inverts usually 2-3 hours (even between tanks at home).

I drip acclimated him from 1:30-5 3 and 1/2 hours!!
82 to kill potential parasites and treating with garlic so far so good..
some would say if you cant use copper or qt or do hypo raise the temp to 82F for 21 days and feed with garlic and your all set..who knows

82 won't kill parasites. It'll speed up the life cycle, but that doesn't actually do any real good in this case, only adds stress to an already stressful situation. Garlic is a good idea, and vitamins will help too, but just QT like normal and if you see ich during the process, treat with hypo accordingly, and you'll be ok.

Actually water temperatures between 77 and 84 degrees are acceptable, its the amount and the time it takes to fluctuate that is stressfull to your fish..

ANYONE ? is it OK to have a small sand bed in your QT ?
IMO you shouldnt have any substrate in your QT... bare bottom and a small PVC pipe or decoration for your fish to hide in or behind... other wise empty tank all the way around..

can you elaborate why ..I'm not questioning you just wann understand and learn. thanks

I paint the outside surface of the bottom and back of QT tanks so that I do not need to use substrate. Painting theses areas gives fish perspective..what is up and down in their environment. Sand can do this also. I would use a cup of sand to try to help a new QT cycle in an emergency. Otherwise I would cycle it normally and not use sand.
Sand or live rock will absorb medications that may leech back out into the tank in the future. Say you use copper on a fish. The fish survives and goes back into the DT. Next you put an injured sea star or coral in it. Even if you change the water between these organisms enough copper may leech out of the sand to kill the inverts.

theres 2 lb's of lr in the qt should it be removed ? and the and the sand is about 5 lb's ..this qt i think would only be for treating fish not inverts.

A cup or 2 is ok to kick start a new QT, or an emergency QT, and to add surface space for the biological filter.

You can do it, I have a small amount in my qt tank. But it adds another varable you have to keep track of in the QT tank. If you use argonite it does help buffer the ph level too. Hypo isn't much of a problem but you really don't want it in with medication because of the reasons stated above.
