Well I am sure there is a wealth of info by using the search functionality on this site.
That being said I would say the pump will not turn over the water too much. If the pump is rated at 700 gph, but what height. There are alot of variables that come in play with pump GPH / flow rate.
Here is some info that I used when making my sump for my 75.

Also My Little giant pump (1100 GPH) will only be at around 780 with my tubing layout etc. So, you get the hint I take it.
Also I read on this wonderful site that you want about 10 to 20 times the tank size in flow rate (1400 to 2000 gph total flow). So you would one large pump and then the pumps inside for water movement.
