How exactly do zoas spread?

Could somebody give me a concise description as to how they do it? Thanks!!!!

Most spread by encrusting the rock by growing their mat, the bottom base part, outward over the rock and then new polyps grows up from the new mat.

Brings up another question: If I am looking to get them to spread to another rock, should I set the new rock on top of them?

they can spread to things that are touching next to them or i have taken a razor blade and peeled back some of the mat and then cut some off and super glued them to another rock so that way they grow there

Thanks Murph! I was hoping to do it the easy way if possible, so I think I'll just keep with the strategy of placing the new rock next to them. Then sit back and....
