Depends on how complex a tank and setup you're going for. Basic woodworking skills and tools are all you need if you're going to build a wood/glass tank. There are plans for a 140 gallon "grow out" tank on www.garf.org to give you some ideas. Javatech has a beautiful DIY tank with pics, Novice150 is in the "cycling" stage of his DIY 1,650 gallon shark tank, and I'm in the final construction phases of my 220 gallon tank. Look around the web, there are lot's of great places for DIY plans and ideas. I also like the book "Simplified Reefkeeping" by Robert Metelsky, it has lot's of DIY information, you can find it at www.simplifiedreefkeeping.com.
