i've seen lionfishes go through some horrific water conditions and still be eating! I think they are one of the most hardiest!!! They're pretty cool too!

LionFish says.......
Contrary to some people's beliefs they are one, if not, the hardiest fish in the whole marine hobby. They are very disease resistant and they have a good appetite to keep them from starving. Although, you should always ask your fish store manager if they have trained their lions to eat dead food rather than live. Freshwater feeders are commonly used for the feeding of lions but it is not wise, as the feeders are not nutritional and can eventually kill the lion by malnutrition. If the lions are not trained to eat food like frozen brine or mysis or some form of non-living food then pass and find a place that does. Some lions will starve themselves without live food and that is usually what kills them. But overall, a lion is a good bet for a really hardy fish.
