How high did your water test peramiters get when you cycled?

I know it takes 4-6 weeks to cycle your tank, sometimes less, but how high were your peramiters before they started to drop? my ammonia is at 1.0, my nitrite at 5.0 ppm, and my nitrate is at 20 ppm. I am so exited about adding new fish to my tank, just wanted to see how fast or slow other people's cycling went!

hey nice to see someone els is a newbie besides me what size tank do you have and how long have you had your tank set up
how long has it been cycling
mine is a 12 nano and my cyccle just started so im a little more than a week away from adding fish

mine is a ten, has been up and running for 2 weeks today.

Depends on how you cycle it; generally i cycle with a dead shrimp, the cocktail kind, so my ammonia and nitrites really jump (sometimes past what a test can read). The bacteria that arent being utilized will die off once established. You will never technically be done with the cycle process, each time you add livestock you can experience a mini cycle. I know how hard it is to wait, so the last tank i setup i used bio spira, which is a live/active culture of bacteria that will cycle your tank in less than 48hours. You should be able to find the stuff if you search "lighthouse bio spira" via google. Its the first link.

I also cycled with a raw shrimp. like i said, my cycle just started 2 weeks ago, and my ammonia has gotten even higher, now sitting at 2.0. i just wanted to see how high others test results got before they started to drop. has anyone ever done a partial water change during the cycle?
