It is recommended to wait about 6 months. Im sure some people add them sooner and come out fine, though.
And to say what corals you should add first, what kind of lights do you have? Mushrooms and zoas are good first choices.

most people do it much earlier than 6 months, bc its tough to wait it out. if u must, as stated above, shrooms and zoas r sure bet.

A few months may be a good wait ............
Waiting is good advice but how long is a questionable issue. What now seems like many moons ago my first coral was a Pink Pearl" about 2 to 3 inches across. ( I didn't know any better). It is a bit harder starting coral to do than many are.......It was added within the first month of set up. Now several years later I still have the what is now a monster, well over a foot across, maybe closer to two.
This was well before I learned the importance of things like a Fuge etc... Sometimes we just get lucky. But caring and perseverance do pay off.
But like said if the tank is stable things like Zoas, simple Leathers and Mushrooms would be acceptable for a newer set up within a fairly short time from set up..............Good Luck..........

I agree, I would wait six months to add most corals, but you can probably get away with some zoas or mushrooms after about 3 months to satisfy your coral fix. Corals are the most healthy and you will have a higher success rate if your tank has stable parameters and it just take time for that to happen.
