how long does it take for a skimmer to start working? I have a seaclone 150

Usually takes 2-3 weeks for it to break in . Also depends on you tank .

all depends on how long you had your tank and what your levels are. on my established tank it took maybe 12 hrs to start working then it had alot of junk in it

not disagreeing just to be contrary, but I have never seen a skimmer take more than a few hours at most to start pulling crud from a tank. JME

My Remora started pulling stuff out the first day.

it should take any were from 24-48hrs

IME usually right away (within hours) but it takes several days to become reliable where the bubble level will remain constant. I had a seaclone 100 and it worked spuradically at best. Was never reliable and I did most of the mods you could do on it before given up and getting a different one.
