How long for a Berlin

Just got a berlin turbo skimmer today.
I hooked it up in the tub to rinse it out, (and figure it out),
but couldn't event get a cyclone to form.
I know it takes a week or so for foam to generate (yes I know it won't produce skimate in a bathtub), but I should at least get a cyclone of bubbles.
I adjusted the knob on the pump, and the one on the air line, but it really didn't do much but change the water flow.

Actually, it is possible to start getting foam immediately. You just have to adjust the air flow into it. You want a steady, but thick, greenish, brown foam. :)

I have a Berlin XL. When you are first breaking it in there won't be much foam in the skim cup, just clear looking frothy stuff. Once it breaks in it will start pulling out the darker kind.

the reason it didn't produce a cyclone is because it was in the bathtub, in FRESH water! it needs to be in SALT water for it to work right. don't worry! just get it hooked up to the tank, and it will work fine. BTW, call up red sea, and tell them your impeller bushing wore out. it's always good to have an extra impeller for those things since they wear out so quickly! at least fo me they do!

Thanks lordofthereef. I figured that out latter that evening, but it's nice to know that someone else knew. How do you have the outlets ran on yours?
