How long for MarOxy to work?

We've had a fish in quarentine for almost 3 weeks now, and he has been acting fine, but has what looks like a true fungus infection starting on his tail. We have been keeping the water as slean as possible, and he has been on Copper both at the LFS (1 week there), and for 2 weeks and and extra day or so in our tank. I just started a MarOxy treatment yesterday, and it says not to use it for more than 5 days. I know that it has been less than 24 hours, but when will I see signs of improvement? I've taken the copper out of the tank, and the parameters of the water are very good, especially for a Q. tank.

Fungas can be tricky. Since the fungas is on the tail, can you try and clean up the tail area yourself, getting as much of the fungas off as possible and swabing with an antiseptic?
What kind of fish is it? Why did you do a copper treatment initially?

It is a small koran angel. The copper treatment was recommended by a bazillion people on this message board as part of a new fish quarentine process before putting into the main tank.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend copper when QT-ing a healthy fish...?
Oh well, as I said, if you can get as much of the tuffs of cotton off the fish during the treatment course, and swab with antiseptic, that will give your fight on the fungas a better start.

What type of antiseptic? How do I not stress out the fish while trying to do this?

Per the advise of the nqlfs (Not Quite Local Fish Shop) where I got the little guy, I scraped off the fingus and put some stress coat right where I scraped. Put him back in the tank with the MarOxy and some Maracyn for some extra protection against infection. He seems to be doing well. I wonder how long before I can put him into our main tank?????

Beth.. you dont recommend copper??? I think the holy grail of marine parasitology is whether or not all fish have ick when they arrive at your home. If so they need treatment.... If not... they dont.
