Thanks for the input Oph....do you suppose they can trap moving orgaisms such as small pods at all by utilizing this? As I stated, i really only see them do this "curling" at night...

i had a vry large black brittle star in my reef for well over a yr i kept it a total of 3 yrs but moved it to my reef for its safety it was a good 12 inches across (leg span) the body was over an inch wide.once he entered my reef i hardly ever seen it i was lucky to catch a glimps of a tenticle every couple of months. he was fed large silverslides when ever i could find him.i removed him due to new arrivals hiding in his vacinity came up missing.once i removed him from my reef my fish stopped vanishing (he was eating them)
