How long have you had your fighting conch?

I want to get a fighting conch for my seahorse tank. I had 2 of them in my 90 reef tank but they died after a couple of months. I believe that my pistol shrimp is the one that killed them because both of their shells were lieing right next to my pistol shrimps hole. I really want to get one for my seahorse tank but ive heard that they always die in captivity. So i was just wondering how long people have had them for?

I'm with outlaw, about 3 years for two of mine. They tend to stay rather small, and most the time you don't know they are there until you are digging around and accidently uncover them. You just have to make sure that your sand bed has a decent amount for them to eat, and they have ample crawling room so they don't have to make it over to much stuff.

I do not have fighting conchs currently.I have Queen conchs now for about a year.I had fighting conchs in an old system for about 5 years.

I have had my conch for about a month, He did an amazing job cleaning mu substrate, but i havent seen him for a few days and the stuff is collecting on the bottom of the tank so i think hes died somewhere in the sand.
