They are fairly hard to keep. I would still wait another three months if I were you. I gave up on trying to keep them. I think that they are best left in the ocean.

really mr? i got a cheap $15 pink anenome about a month after setting up my 55. first thing i bought actually. i've been dealing with my lfs (petworld lawrence ks, best ever) and the people working there for over 10yrs and they said that it's a lot more tolerant than fish as far as water conditions go. a clown came to host it about 2 months ago and brings it food. it seems to be thriving and it's def getting a lot bigger, it's about 6" now. my lighting sucks too, but i've a mh - mom's that hopefully i can pick up soon.

I put two condi anemones into my tank after the initial cycle. I should have waited much longer, but they are growing and doing fine.

IMO...never. Anemones are very difficult to keep and require heavy lighting. Sure a few make it here and there, but for the most part, their survival rate is around 35%. But if you're one of those people whom have to do it their way...I would wait a minium of 6 months. Make sure you have at least VHOs, and use R/O/D/I H20.

i must have a rare case, but pink anenomes seemed really cheap, and cheap things seem to be easy to keep so that's why i went with it.
lucky me and lucky it thank god.
i can't wait to see it under my other lights when i can get them up here.
btw, i haven't bought any other anen's and have no experience there, so i could just be getting lucky. i have a very, very trustworthy lfs who has never told me wrong. wait, i have been told wrong, but i know a new employee there when i see them.

I believe you are reffering to a hiatian (sp) aka pink tip, the poster was looking for an anemone to host his clown. Very rare for a clown to take up residence in a pink tip as they are from different oceans.

I had a Clarke clown take up residence in a Pink tip the first day I put the anemone in my tank. Unfortunately the anemone didn't last long.
