If i put some cycled CC in a zip loc with cycled water how long will it last?

I think savage is asking how long will the organisms and bacteria in CC remain alive in a zip loc bag. Thats my guess at least.

Considering the bags of LS you get at the store have shelf lives of something like two or three years, I would guess you could get by for at lease a week. JMO

well i hate to see it go to waste after it has already cycled. JUst trying to cheat a bit if i start another tank like a QT. Can i make a QT out of a 5 gal. and put it under my stand ?

the bacteria will start to die off immediately. Oxygen is required to keep that bacteria alive.
I moved a tank over about a three week period by using coolers. I just proped open the lids to allow air exchange. When I set up the tank at the new location, there was no cycle. the key was to keep fresh air in contact with the water.
I think that was what he was asking :thinking:
