You should wait until the tank cycles...it has been said on here before..the only sure thing to happen quickly in a marine tank is disaster...patience stinks...but it is a requirement for a semi-stress free and healthy marine tank.

I would get a thriving plant growth going in the meantime. You should be able to add some fish by then. Just take it slow.

If you are just starting a new marine system I would first suggest that you search on-line for a well traveled article titled..."reefkeeping 101"...it covers each step of the process and will address your question in regard to addition of livestock....
...and totally disregard the "toss in plant life" comment...most experiencied hobbyists would prefer to minimise the growth of potentially invasive algaes....encourageing them to flourish in a new system could be a big mistake and can very easily start a whole new setof problems.
Check out the article and learn all you can about cycling and establishing a new aquarium...and be patient.

If he gets the plant life thriving, he has a very strong indication some fish can be added.

Listen To NMReef he really knows what he is talking about.Let your tank cycle and while you are doing that you will have plenty of time to search the internet and read as much information as you can.The better understanding you have and the more patience you have the happier you will be with the end results.Don't be afraid to ask any questions and BE PATIENT!!!!! :)
