6-8 months. That way your system stabilizes fully and you have the necessary microscopic life to support them...

Very safe advice but a little to catholic school for me.
Assuming you don't purchase any corals without researching and your water parameters are in check... you can add corals after 2 months. The longer you wait the better though. Also understanding lighting requirements and being able to afford these light fixtures.
Calcium, Alk and magnesium will have to be tested before diving in. Start with some mushrooms and go from there.

As soon as everything is stable (for at least a month) you can add hardier things like mushrooms, zoas, etc. I'd wait at least two for LPS, and even more for SPS, clams, and anemones.
