Hi There!
I was just wondering how many fish I could have in my 10 gallon?
Currently I have
1 yellow tail damsel
1 Flame hawkfish
And I have about 5lbs of live rock
I would like to add a Percula Clown and Royal Gramma
Is it possible? Will the Fish get along with eachother ok? I've heard damsels can be somewhat territorial.
I'll try to get a pic of my tank!
Thanks for any advice!

I encountered water quality problems when I had 3 small fish in my 10. What kind of filtration do you have on your 10?

I currently have a small power head (dive power 40) Attached to a tube going to a filter plate under some live sand. And I have a small charcoal filter... have attached a picture of one similar, but mine's a bit bigger, maybe the next size up.

I have researched the heck out of what I could put in my own 10 gallon and I would at max. put between 2 to 5 small shrimp and maybe just 1 fish. You have to understand that once you add fish to a tank they acutally crap it up, polluting the water and adding impurities. If I were you I would really look into the cool world of doing a invert only tank. With the right lighting about 5 to 7 watts per gallon you could add clams and certian corals. Fish while they are beautiful, really do belong in a bigger tank. I'm sorry if I dissapointed you. Good Luck!

If you are not happy with the fish you have now, just take them back to a LFS. Then, start with the clown fish or fish of your choice. If the water quality is good go for another fish. Royal Grammas are cool but I prefer firefish. They are very pretty and get along great with any other fish. Right now, in my 12, I have only one fish. It does look a bit empty but there are other ways to stock the tank then just adding tons of fish.
If you are trying to make your tank look a bit more "full" theres alot of things you can do.
I think you should add some more LR. I have 17 lb of it in my 12 and it really makes the tank look nice. Its not fully PACKED but its still nice. Then you could get some shrimp. Pistol shrimp are cool. A group of sexy shrimp. Maybe a feather duster.

i agree. in my 10 gallon nano. i have a PJ cardinal(oscar) and a long fin fairy wrasse(musik). im done with fish. i have various corals that have been in there for a while. look on my profile for any ideas on what to put in your tank if you want. to me, coral add more color than fish IMO. if its movement you want, maybe get some pulsating xenia to start? just gotta keep its growth under control :D . maybe some zolanthids? they are very popular. just some tips good luck:)

Thanks Everyone for your responces!
All this information is very helpful.
And I am grateful for the quick responces as well, as I was planning on buying fish today!...
Now I will take more Corals, live rock and inverts into mind.
