how many GPH is the pump on your skimmer

i bought a used skimmer without a pump.. if i remeber i was told to get a rio 2100 or equivilent(sp?). and even better would be to get a rio 3100 thats 600-999gph.. that seems insane to me.. is that pretty common in skimmers? its a h.o.b. skimmer from aqua clear aquatics. i got it for 40 bucks! my plans are to use it till i have the money for a euro reef, but that will be some time.

thanks kip.. what other pumps besides rio could i use that would have a adjustable flow that tops at 999 gph or so... not 100 % sure what its going to take to get this skimmer at the right flow... i tried 300 gph and it just laughed at me :rotfll:

Here's a link to a 'Skimmer Design 101'. I thought this was interesting, and talks about how much water flow, and how much air etc. I used this info to DIY a skimmer that works quite well for me.
