keeping a copperband butterfly and a maxima clam?
Copperbands attack invertebrates (mainly Aiptasia and Tube worms when they are smaller). As the fish gets larger, it's needs will get larger. I have seen maybe 5% of them when they get to around 4-5 inches (if they last that long) that will NOT pick at clam mantles.

What, eating it's mantle? Yes. A clams partial means of survival is what the Zooxanthellae feed the clam. If the clam starts running out of area to house Zooxanthellae - it can cause the clam to bleach out, not feed, not get nutrients, get stressed, just ALL KINDS of stuff. Think of it's mantle as like a solar energy panel that runs an entire house. What happens if you start to break chunks of it off?

Thanks for the help. I really want a maxima clam or 2 but not as much as I want a copperband. Guess this means I need another tank
lol
