ok I think I"m gonna go with florda aquacultured live rock but I'm wondering how many pounds per gallon I'm gonna need. I just want a moderate level of rock so I was wondering if I could get away with only 1 pound per gallon.

1 lb per gallon is just fine. Aquacultured is a great way to go as i have been told. Doesnt take away from reefs, and is full of life.

IMHO, if you choose to use the Florida Aqua Cultured, you need between 1.5 and 2 lbs per gallon if you plan to use it for your bio filtration. When I was researching it, I found out it is not a porous as fiji and other types and you will need more to get the same bacteria housing capability.

Aquacultured Live Rock is far less porous than natural live rock. What this means is that it takes more rock to fill a given space. Natural live rock is more porous so less rock will fill that same space. Aquacultured rock is also more prone to having lots of macro algaes and not as much coralline algae. Aquacultured is also prone to having more undesirable creatures like mantis shrimp on it. I prefer natural live rock, but aquacultured is still good rock...it just depends on what you are looking for in your rock.

Crass, Ramones, Misfits, Jim Carroll Band, Clash, the list goes on and on.
I have seen my blue mushrooms turn from blue to purple lots of times...the only thing that I can figure is the amount and spectrum of the light they are exposed to.
