how many more and what kind

I have a 55 gallon aquarium.It includes a yellow tang,royal gramma,firefish goby,spotted hawkfish,and 2 small mollies and some snails for algae control. I recieved the firefish and hawkfish about a week ago, and they are fine. I would like to know if you think i could add one or two more hardy fish and what kind would you recommend. I could always relocate the mollies before hand. Thank you in advance for all those that reply.

What part of TX are you in? I'm in Fort Worth....we have a good reef club in the D/FW area from what I've heard.

Thank you for the replies. To answer some questions, the tang will not grow any more his growth has been stunted (4-6 inches) but he is healthy and vibrant in color and the mollies would be moved to another tank. The
firefish and hawkfish will not get much bigger either. So if u have any more comments please send them.

Could you possibly explain this just a little...I've had a yellow tang in a 55 for a little over 4 months now.....soon he will return to my LFS for partial credit and I will wait until I've completed a serious up-grade before adding another tang.............but if I could "stunt his growth"......maybe a 55 would be fine for him............I've learned from experience that in order for a tang to thrive.....it needs plenty of room to roam and in my opinion a 55 is just too small after they grow to around 4-5 inchs...

Jw you are right there many things including the size of the tank that will stunt a fish's growth.However I did not choose to stunt his growth on purpose.It was a combination of the tank and a battle for resources.Before the firefish and hawkfish he had other tankmates,which used up some of those resources.If an ecosystem doesn't have an abundance of resources then all orginisms will have to make do with what they have which is what happened.The tang was one of the very first fish I put in after i cycled it. I think the major problem was when i was away for a prolonged period of time.I was on vaction and he 1 meal a day.The tank's algae supply was not flourishing yet.When i am here he gets three meals a day and some seaweed selects. He was in very poor condition along with his tankmates(which sadly did not make it).He bounced back but I to this day I do not think he has grown much more than maybe an inch.I also have an example if you would like, but you will have to reply asking for it.
