How many peppermint shrimp for 33?

I have 3 in my 30 g and for the most part they just stay in one place, so they don't seem to need much room. I don't know what the maximum would be, but unless you really like them, I wouldn't get too many. They will eat a lot of your pods, and IMO are not nearly as attractive or fun to watch as some of the other shrimp you can get.

I had 10 in my 55 gal, and eventually there were only five. There are still five, and they are now HUGE. I do not trust them with anything in my tank, and I would like very much to get rid of them. Please read a lot about them before you decide for sure that these are the shrimp you want in your tank.
Mine do not clean other fish, like to eat small feather dusters, may be picking at some of my zoos. So consider what role they will play in your system and maybe somebody else would be as good or better in your system.
There are lots of posts on the general character of peppermints. You may want to do a search.

I have one peppermint shrimp in my tank and I don't trust mine either. They are supposed to be reef safe but I have heard conflicting views. My cleaner shrimp stays out in the open a lot more and he's cool to watch.

I would add ZERO 0 ZERO to any of my tanks!
They are greedy destructive shrip. I had two in my tank and they did over a hundred dollars worth the damage to my corals and feather dusters. They are unpredictable. Some people have no problems but I had alot!!!!
They had an appite for dusters, and they would steal food from my button polyps and long plate tentical coral and acidently killed them in the process.
And they were not starving. They ate flake and pellets with my clowns, I supplemented them with mymis shrip and squid and brime. I feed them before I spot feed the corals and they still would rip the food from their mouths.
So I say Zero to pepermints!
and yes they where pepermints not camelbacks
I don't mean to sound like a A** but I'm passionate about it.

I was trying to sound moderate, but I must say that I can't stand mine. I rue the day I thought they'd be a good addition to my reef. UGH!
And now they come up to me and pick at my hand when I feed my other fish or try to clean the glass or move anything around. One of them in particular is quite aggressive.
Say no to peppermint.
And mine, too, are not camelbacks.
