The rule of thumb is one pound per gallon to start with. If the tank looks empty add more
its up to you. Its your tank enjoy.

I believe 29 lbs is the most sufficient (1 pound per gallon of water). You do not have to add all the live rock at once but I would add at least 10 lbs during setup.

there isnt really a set amount, as of some rocks are more dence, and heavier then others of the same size, i have almost 20lbs in my 10, and i think it looks good, buy like 15lbs to start off with, when when you go to the store and see a peice you like, buy it, and slowly build up your rockwork.

here is a pic of my refuge as of right now....i only say that because I do not have the PVC setup yet because I am waiting for my new stand so i know how to plumb the whole thing. And also because my HOB filter is on there, only because I was trying to get rid of some unwanted algae in the display, and it actually got it out quite quickly... The dividers also aren't in the fuge yet because I might switch to a slightly bigger tank for it. but you get this idea anyway

Hi I have a 29 gallon and I used 15# base rock and 15# of LR. Mine looks fine. Below is a picture. Remember you can always add and when you get to putting in corals (if you do a reef) then alot of corals come on a rock.
