Can anybody tell me how many LB of southdown do I need for a 150? It will be a FOWLR tank. I don't want a DSB but I do want enough for visual appeal. Thanks!
Try 200 lbs....
I have 30 lbs in my 20. I know its alot smaller but quick math gives you 200-225 lbs. They are roughly similarly proportional too At least i think so.... Either way it should give you about 3 inches of sand.
Thanks Stumpdog, the answer I got was about 200 lb for a 3" sandbed and 135 lb for a 2" sandbed. Do you think I can go with 2" or do you think it's too little?
One more thing. If you like sand go more. If you like semishallow go less. I would get about 3 inches at least to help stabalize the rock you put in. Keep in mind fish love to dig and move sand so it may bunch up in places. Same thing when yo ustart running powerheads....
