how many times are u suppose to feed nine damsels?

It depends on how long you would like them to live :) Just kidding. I know they are pretty aggressive feeders, but I would suggest 3-4 time a week...I know they probably look hungrier then that, but I am sure that they can thrive without everyday feedings. Are they the only critters you have in the aquarium?

I would feed them once a day. I think that overfeeding is more harmfull if the food is uneaten and lays on the bottom to decay. I feed my tank daily and have seen no increase in my nitrates.

I use to feed daily but now I tend not to do that they dont need food every day . it can very and it doesnt have to be at the same intervals I find they eat better if its random. when I fed them the same time every day food would go uneaten if I did it sometime every other day and sometimes every two days they ate everthing. also varying food types is a good Idea I use about 4 or 5 different kinds of food

You have nine damsels in a 55 gallon tank? I hope you don't plan on adding any more fish to your tank. And how long has your tank been setup? In your profile it says first time in hobby. Is your tank cycled yet?
