How many uv watts for a 55?

Thinking of getting a uv, I know that a slow rate of flow is important to kill anything, but how many watts we be good for a 55 gallon?

I have either a 15 or 18 watt UV in my 55.(sorry for not remembering.) I have been told 300 gallons per hour is what is supposed to flow through it for optimum results. Everything has been going great with it. Hope this helps.

it really depends on the unit you go with. But usually I see them around 15W for a very basic one.
