how many peppermint shrimp can be put into a 20L with room for other shrimps? i have no idea how big these guys get..i dont wanna get too many and not have room for cooler shrimp such as a fire shrimp...my reason for wanting peppermints is aiptasia control....ive killed all the ones on my rocks..but i found anotehr one on my glass..ill be killing as many as i can find myself..but i figure it wont hurt to get a natural aiptasia killer..and a great new addition to my tank at the same time! any help or advice greatly appreciated

You'd probably be fine with just one. And if you plan on having other shrimp, you don't want too many because then they'll be competing with each other for scraps. In a 20 gallon tank, there aren't going to be that many scraps. Just so you know, they're not the most exciting shrimp. I have one in my 29 gallon, and he hardly ever comes out when the lights are on.

My one did it for me. My point was that if he gets several to get rid of aiptasia, what are they all going to do once the aiptasia are all gone?

Yes, I understand. Here's the thing... If he buys several peppermints, plus a couple of other shrimp and whatever other inverts he has in there, what's the liklihood that there's going to be enough leftovers to keep everyone healthy and happy? It's just like buying a bunch of algae eating snails when you have an algae problem. Once they get it under control, there are going to be too many snails and not enough algae.

i already feed algae sheets for my lmb anyways..no hurt in feeding a little extra for the shrimps! i also spot feed my snails with algae sheets when there isnt much algae present....they love it!! my snails are about as big as a half dollar...and they LOVE them algae sheets!!
