I've played since I was 14-15 years old. I still ry to get out at least once a week...normally score in the mid to high 80's.
I've always like the serene pace and setting of a decent golf course. Even here in New Mexico the local muny is probably the nicest piece of property around...makes for a nice way to shut down the world...go at a slower pace...and enjoy mother nature for a few hours.

First time I picked up a club, I was 22. I broke 90 in 6 months, 80 in 12 months, and 70 in 2 years. What I wouldn't give to have started playing at 13 years old. My best advice would be to read at least 5 books on the swing, and practice, practice, practice, and then practice some more.

You shot 44 for 9 holes, and you are 13 years old? Wow!
But, I've got to play devils advocate. Did you take any mulligans, and did you pick up any gimmies. If you did, stop it now. Ok, maybe 1 mulligan, but only on the first hole. No gimmies....that will make you a better putter, which, believe it or not, is the hardest part of the game.

To be real with you belothsurf I never take a mulligan on the first hole, and I hate in when people do that.
I just don't think people should do that no matter where you are. If your at the PGA of just an ordonary golf club. The hit their first shot and then they take out another ball. I always see it but i never do that. And I always no matter what HOLE OUT when ever I put. I see that a lot too and it shows that your not confident with their putting. Plus I love to put! :yes:

Good practices. The only thing we do is roll it in the fairway.

Great Big Bertha Hawkeye. I haven't been playing much in the last few years, and I haven't kept up with the latest clubs on the market. I've always used Callaway drivers though.
