Well i just wanted to get every ones thoughts on how much carbon should be run.I have a 210 gallon with a 70 gallon sump ( 230 total gallons ).It is a fowlr aggressive. The carbon is changed once a month and is run in a bag through passive filtration.I was thinking 1.5 cups per 100 gallons each month. What do you think?

Since you change it monthly, I think you are doing it right. There has been some debate over what excess carbon can “strip” from your water. I can’t say I have an opinion one way or the other, but if your water parameters are good and your livestock is doing well, then the only time to add more carbon is if you can actually smell a string odor coming from your tank.
Good luck man.

I have a 210 also... I run a canister filter that holds 7lbs of carbon and i only run it for two hours a week for a polish on my water. And I change my carbon ever six months... I don't know if that helps
It sounds like you are doing a like over kill... JMO

I have started running carbon once a month for 24 hrs. I've read some on coconut carbon which is supposed to be a higher quality and can be reactivated much better (?) so it is reusable. Could reduce costs quite a bit. If I had a large tank and used a lot of carbon I might go that route.
