how much do you pay for live rock?

I make my own too. But in the past I've bought:
Deepwater tonga - $2.85 / lb plus shipping
Topshelf Marshall Islands - $9/lb local purchase
Rubble $2.99 a scoop - usually about 3 lbs worth.
Baserock from a friend - priceless....

If it's black - you're probably using crushed oyster shells right?
Thing is - black will grow coralline more quickly. Allthough intially I think oyster shell rock looks very unrealistic.

heck, the mixture is the easiest part of it. Getting it to look real is the hard part.

figi $4.50- $7 / pound This is a rough average of places I've been and prices I have heard

i got a bunch of the florida stuff and it was pretty cheap. i think it looks really cool with all the shapes, beats the expensive, big, round chunks of jucky lookin fiji at the lfs. but..... i work there so i get a 30% discount and its on sale for 4.50 now so its not so bad
