how much does a 20 gallon tank and allthe tests and stuff cost

i am planning on upgrading to a 20 gallon long soon...
tank 30 - 50 dollars depending on quality
other than that everything is very expensive haha.
no, really.
even the cheap stuff is not cheap.

I think we need some more info: what are your plans for the tank, if you are going full blown reef then you can spend a ton, if it is FOWLR, then you can cut some costs.

to answer your question directly. You can spend from ~$100 up to the $1,000.00.
Just depends on how you maintain it and what your objectives are. Low end definately works for a FO tank with a few easy to keep corals. Most here state the high end is required to keep anything you might possible want to add.

Really is no set cost just look into what all you think you will need and add it up. Good Luck.

Just recently purchased items for my 20 gallon tank. Here are the prices for what them.
Protein Skimmer and Filter all in 1 - 170.00
Submersible Heater 100 watts - 30.00
20 lbs of live sand - 50.00
glass viewing hood - 10.00
conditioner - 2.00
hydrometer - 15.00
I bought all the stuff at Aquarium Adventures Superstore. Very nice place, 20,000 sq. ft and very helpful.
