We are discussing about Fiji rock, I assume. I have Fiji.
I am not sure how "live" and "pretty" are the rocks that your local LFS carry for $5/lb,
every one of lfs here in Oklahoma carry the worst looking rocks.
The rocks look so dirty and dead, I mean dead dead, like nothing on them but dead algae swaying back and forth. No Coraline algae or anything. And they sell them for $5 a pound, that is the biggest rip off, I think.
My lr came in with alot of pretty purple coraline algae and it's been over a month, the algae still haven't spreaded out much. I imagine if would take about 7 or 8 months to get those dead rocks at lfs to grow some purple.
