HOW MUCH LIGHT FOR A 90g REEF TANK

HAVE A 90 GALLON REEF WITH 150LBS OF LIVE ROCK. A BERLIN TURBO SKIMMER, TIDEPOOL II WET DRY, RO UNIT WITH AUTO TOP OFF, AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT AND HOW MUCH LIGHT PER GALLON I NEED......HAVE 4 NORMAL FLOURECENT LIGHTS( 3 10000K, AND 1 ACTINIC) HELP PLEASE WANT TO KEEP HARD CORALS AND BUBBLE TIP ALIVE. :eek:

That depends entirely on type of reef setup you want to have.
Generally you should aim for 4-6 watts per gallon.

OK I NEED TO GO BACK AND LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT I AM THINKING OF GOING CHEAP AND GET 4 MORE 32 WATT NO 4' LAMPS 3-10,000K AND 1 ACTINIC.....THAT WILL GIVE ME LETS SEE 256 WATTS OF LIGHT. (8 BULBS @ 32 WATTS EACH)? RIGHT???? WILL THAT BE GOOD ENOUGH OR DO I REALLY NEED THE INTENCE LIGHT OF COMPACT OR HALIDE......I CAN GET HALIDE BALLAST FROM WHERE I WORK REAL CHEAP BUT THE BULDS WE CARRY ARE 5000K SO I WOULD STILL HAVE TO ORDER THEM. :rolleyes:
