Currently have a a 92 gallon corner tank that I am setting up as a reef tank. I have not yet conquered the true understanding of lighting, although everytime I read something, it seems to be a bit different than the last thing I have read...this is what I currently have:
36" with 96 watt 10,000K Daylight and 96 watt True Actinic 03 Blue Compact Fluorescent Lamps plus two 3/4 watt Lunar Blue-Moon-Glow LED 470nm Lamps.
I want to add a MH light eventually, I do know that...but is this alone enough lighting to sustain simple low to medium lighting corals?
Will the Actinic blue compacts contribute to excessive algea growth?? ( I read this somewhere)...
My tank also has a glass top that is currently in place....with the lights on top...should this be? or should my lighting hang above an open tank? I have seen it both ways and am just curious....
Any suggestions/clarifications would be greatly recommended...thanks..
