How much salt per gallon of water

When premixing water for a water change how much salt per gallon will get me close to where I need to be?

for istant ocean i think its 1/2 cup for 1 gallon

ive done mine by weight and its about 2.25 lbs per 5 gallons, maybe a little more/less (Instant Ocean)

Most brands recomend 1/2 cup per gl for SG of 1.021 to 1.023 so always test and tweak as needed.

Correct...Instant Ocean says 1/2 cup per gallon. But it all depends where you want your salinity to be.

Usually you can look in the directions and it will tell you how much per gallon or 5 gallons or something like that.

yeah IO is .5 cup per gallon, also be sure to let the saltwater age for at least 24 hours before adding to tank(Im assuming you know this but im just making sure).
