how much salt

Using instant ocean, how much salt to you add per gallon. The only mix on the side is for small batch---1/2 cup per gallon. I figured all the water (counted the jugs) and mixed accordingly. My sg is VERY high! I will check it tomorrow after temp is up and had plenty of time to mix up, but it seems very high

Do you have a salinity tester?

I have a swing arm tester. It is above 1.035. I am wondering if the crap still clouding the water is goofing it up. The sand did a number on it.

My temp was about 68 when I read it the first time. 72 now. I am gonna check it in the morn and see what it is. And you are correct, I do not have anything in it to worry about. I just was sure I was doing it right...oh well live and learn.
